+ VIRTUAL FOSTERING
With the slight easing of lockdown restrictions we are hoping to make a little progress towards restarting the homing of our greyhounds. This will be slow, not least because vets are still unable to do much beyond emergency work and so it is difficult to arrange neutering - a prerequisite for all homings.
We know that there are people itching to take a greyhound into their family and can only say - please be patient - we will get going as quickly as we can - but always with everyone's health and safety and the greyhounds' best interests as the top priorities.
We may have to go slow and steady for the moment - but if you are thinking of homing a greyhound once the opportunity is there -
- GIVE KATH A CALL - 07723 027995
You could start the process & as soon as we can home a greyhound to you, you will be ready to go!
Please remember that all kennel visits are by appointment only
that the arrangements are made via Kath and
will be made according to the suitability of individual circumstances for the greyhounds available at the time.
IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT!

Will YOUR HOME be the FOREVER HOME
for one of these greyhounds?
Kuba is a handsome chap who doesn’t like to miss a thing. He’s confident, loves attention, gets on great with the other dogs and, like most of them, enjoys a good leg stretch. Still a little keen with smaller animals he is getting better with time and will undoubtedly improve more once he can get out and about.
Kuba won't be available for homing for a little while. He is not yet castrated, as the vet hasn’t been able to carry out routine procedures during lockdown. It is frustrating, but in everyone's best interests that we only home when a greyhound is neutered - and hopefully that will be soon!
It does mean that Kuba is going to be with us for a little while.
Could YOU be a VIRTUAL FOSTERER and help to support him whilst he has his kennel time?
To begin with Brenda was quite her own lady and liked her own space but after a short period of time she came out of her shell and now loves all the attention and fuss she can get. Out walking, she enjoys a good leg stretch and almost always runs down the full length of the gallop and back. She’s great with the other dogs and we feel she’d be ok with small dogs as she’s been around them before. She has quite a chilled laid back attitude but isn’t a pushover. A genuine pretty lady with a lovely temperament.
On her last outing from the kennels she was described as ‘the perfect walker’ - interested and alert but matching her handler's pace, starts and stops.

Rosie has been with us the longest out of all the greyhounds we have in at the minute. She’s an inquisitive, independent girl who likes her own space. To begin with, she didn’t really like attention but she’s starting to enjoy a fuss. Although quite keen and focussed if she sees something small and fast she does listen when corrected. She enjoys a good run, then once back in her kennel is very chilled and will just lay on her bed or sunbathe in her run. A bit grey in the face but young at heart.
Rosie was a good companion when out walking - no problem on the lead and interested in what was going on around her.

Brando is a happy, 'wriggly' boy with a very waggy tail. Quite energetic as greyhounds go, he has an enthusiastic view of life and enjoys a good run and play nearly as much as a good fuss.
He was really good on his first trip out of the kennels. He walked easily and was friendly and forward, and showed what a happy character he is.

Honor really likes treats! She is still a little anxious, but perks up greatly once there's a treat on the horizon. She does also quite like a lean and is not one to shy away from a nice back massage or ear rub.

Billy is a lovely big lad with an engaging personality - friendly, interested and alert straight out of the kennel, along with some serious tail wagging.
He’s a strapping big chap with a playful manner. A little keen with smaller dogs and animals but this doesn’t make him hard to handle or manage as he still listens. Excitable when we get him out of the kennel as he knows he’s going for a walk but never pulls on his lead. Off the lead, he likes to have a run and play with the other dogs. Confident and alert, he doesn’t miss a thing. He’s got a big heart with a lot of love to give and is always there for a cuddle

Evan has not been with us for very long, but his personality has been quick to emerge. He walk really easily on the lead and is 'no bother' where other dogs and small animals are concerned. He is excitable when he first comes out of his kennel because he is keen to get to the attention and fussing; and even though he likes a run in the paddock he then likes to stay close and walk alongside people. 'Affectionate with a big heart' is how he has been described at the kennels.

Connie is a smallish, pretty, self assured lady. She walks easily on her lead and has a sense of confidence in her surroundings when she is out and about. With an active mind, she likes to be kept occupied, is quite independent, loves a good run and gets on well with the other greyhounds. She takes a very keen interest in the rustle of treat bags!

Prince is quite a big lad with a character to match - a happy boy who doesn't like to get bored. He has settled to walking really nicely on his lead, and clearly enjoyed being in a car when he was able to go for an outing. He is an engaging chap who likes physical contact and is good around the other greyhounds. But he's not so bothered about racing around - more of a jogger than a sprinter and quite happy to just mooch about at his own pace.
He is alert and interested and is sure to make great strides into the 'pet world' once he has the chance to get out and about again.

Rusty was initially a bit lacking in experience & confidence & found things like traffic & geese a bit spooky. But he has settled down well, been no trouble to walk & enjoys reassurance. He is an expert leaner!
He’s a big lad who loves a cuddle and is always ready for a fuss. He can get a little excited when he first comes out of the kennel but is generally no trouble. He gets on well with the other greyhounds and is playful and affectionate with people.

Tigger has been with us since February and has settled in well. He’s quite a big lad who is energetic and loves to play - he is full of energy when he first comes out of the kennel and enjoys a good leg stretch on the gallop. He gets on well with the other greyhounds, though doesn’t let them boss him about. But smaller dogs and other animals are still a bit of a mystery to him. Underneath his big, boisterous exterior there's a big softy who just loves attention.

Fly was initially quite excitable. with everything being so new, so she was watchful & a little uncertain. But she has really settled in and is learning that life has changed for her.
She's quite independent and likes her own way; and thoroughly enjoys a good run. Although she is still a little bit keen with smaller dogs and other animals, she is easily managed and walks very well on her lead. This very pretty lady is also starting to really enjoy a fuss!
